Before marijuana was legalized for medical and recreational use, it wasn’t reasonable to smoke marijuana anywhere you go. Hotels were easily the worst. I went to a hotel one time and I smelled precisely like marijuana. The woman at the front desk told me that any hint of marijuana in the room would carry a $250 cleaning charge. There was no way that I was going to sit outside in the middle of the night to smoke my cannabis. It was only 15° outside that night and there was snow everywhere on the ground. I decided to test the theory at the hotel. I went into the bathroom and I turned the shower on until the whole bathroom was filled with steam. I turned on the fan in the bathroom and I fired up a joint. I blew the smoke into the exhaust fan in the bathroom. I also stuffed a wet towel under the door so the smell would stay in one area. No one ever caught me smoking in the bathroom and I never got a charge, so the upcoming time my buddies and I went somewhere we smoked in the bathroom again. Unluckily, this time the smell ended up in the room next to me. There was a knock on the door when my buddies and I were still in the shower smoking marijuana. My associate and I got into a bit of trouble and the hotel director threatened to kick us out of the room.
