PTSD makes me feel like I am trapped inside of my head

Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms can vary from one person to the next.

  • The symptoms May begin as quickly as the event takes place and it may take years and years for a person to develop post-traumatic stress disorder.

A traumatic event happened to me when I was younger and it caused me to change my thinking. It made me feel hopeless and kept me from maintaining close relationships with my family and friends. I felt emotionally numb and I found it difficult to experience any positive emotions. PTSD was dragging me down. I started therapy with a lady at the mental health center and we made a lot of progress very quickly. I was willing to do the work and I met with the therapist three times every week. I learned a lot of new coping skills and I also got a prescription for medical marijuana. When I feel nervousness and anxiety, I can use medical marijuana to help me feel better. I usually have a marijuana vape pen on my person at all times. When I get into a situation where I feel like I am going to have a panic attack, I take a few puffs from the marijuana vape pen. The feeling of relief is almost instantly. It only takes about a minute for the effects to hit me and after two or three puffs, I always feel better. Therapy provided by the state and free medical marijuana have helped me deal with the problems in my past and every day I am starting to feel better and more alive.
