Our place is going through a System Audit

I started working at a cannabis dispensary during the pandemic because I was sick of working in food service.

I could not make ends meet & rent was going up at the same time.

I’ve consistently been a fan of smoking cannabis so I figured I would give it a shot working at a dispensary… At the time I had a neighbor who was working at the same dispensary that I am working at now, however well that neighbor of mine is no longer here, they were instrumental in getting me my new job; They offered me a wonderful recommendation to the hiring employer at the time. It’s been a mix of wonderful & awful things working at a cannabis dispensary; Sometimes the buyers are the nicest people in the world, but other mornings they can be the meanest buyers I’ve ever dealt with in a retail type environment. On top of it, we have to deal with all of these concerns related to regulatory bodies with conflicting state & federal laws. Just like any other businesses, cannabis dispensaries cannot lie about their financial systems & how their software systems integrate. That’s why our dispensary is going through the process of a System & Organization Controls Audit. An SOC Audit is basically a series of accounting reports that are done to ensure that corporation systems relating to financials are working properly. Any software or outsourced data is adequately audited to make sure everything is working correctly. These SOC Audits are essential for providing buyers of cannabis dispensaries with faith that cash is being handled properly.
