My son would like to work for a weed dispensary

Call me old school, but when my son Jason told me that he wanted to become a budtender, I had no idea what he was talking about.

In fact, when he mentioned it to me, I instantly gave him a blank stare, and he immediately knew that I was clueless to about what he meant.

If you’re like me and don’t know what a budtender is, it’s basically a person who works inside a licensed weed dispensary. Budtenders are knowledgeable on holistic as well as recreational uses for marijuana and CBD products. They are there to help the customers find the best products for their individual symptoms and needs. I know that my son uses recreational marijuana and as long as he doesn’t hurt himself or anyone else, I am ok with it. After all, he’s an adult now, so there is nothing that I can do to regulate what he does. I am just happy that he found something that he wants to do with his life. So, of course, when he told me that he wanted to work inside a weed dispensary, I was nothing more than supportive of his decision. Plus, the marijuana industry is exploding, and the laws in the states are constantly evolving, so who knows, perhaps in a few years, Jason could be on his way to becoming an entrepreneur in this growing (no pun intended) billion-dollar industry. Thankfully, we live in one of the states where marijuana is legal for both recreation as well as medicinal use. So, that alone makes it easier to become a budtender in our state. The requirements are simple, and most weed dispensaries will hire someone who is knowledgeable about the industry and is of legal age. Thankfully Jason qualifies and will be working as a budtender very soon.
