Expanding my knowledge of cannabis

When I first began shopping at the cannabis dispensary, I was completely overwhelmed.

I was unfamiliar with the wide variety of products and had no understanding of the terminology.

I noticed that most of the options were labeled sativa, indica or hybrid, but didn’t know what that meant. I had no clue what THC or CBD stood for and no experience with any of the consumption methods. I was afraid to try new things. I worried about a bad experience. After several months of purchasing a single type of pre-roll, I finally decided to educate myself. I wanted to experiment and fully realize the potential of cannabis for my health and enjoyment. I was determined to have confidence in my purchase choices. I researched online and discovered a wealth of information. There are countless sites, articles and blogs entirely devoted to cannabis consumption. I looked up all of the consumption methods and familiarized myself with their unique benefits, effects and any required skills or accessories. I was amazed to learn that the human body produces natural cannabinoids very much like those found in the cannabis plant. There are over a hundred cannabinoids found in the plant and each one provides unique effects. The most abundant is THC, which is responsible for the psychoactive effects. The second most prevalent is CBD, which works differently than THC and can help to ease some of the side-effects. After lots of reading and consulting with a budtender, I have become more adventurous. I’ve tried a few tinctures, a couple of edibles and a disposable vape pen.
