It’s hard for me to sleep at night and it’s hard for me to get my eyes awake and open during the day.
When I am awake or asleep, I see the same things all of the time.
My best friend and I were in a car accident when we were 17. He was driving at the time of the accident. We were both in the front seat, but the drunk driver crashed into the driver’s side of the car and killed my best friend right in front of me. We were stuck in the car for hours together while I waited for help to arrive. There were no cell phones back then and we were on a road that was not traversed by very many cars. It was mostly local people going home or going to work. We were out there until 5 a.m., when someone spotted the car on the side of the road. My best friend was already gone by then and I could no longer feel my legs. I thought that I was paralyzed, but the blood had been stopped due to being pinned inside of the car. Ever since the day of the accident, I haven’t been able to function properly. The only thing that gets rid of the sight of my dad’s best friend is medical marijuana. Medical marijuana helps me cope with the PTSD and anxiety that I still feel every single day. Medical marijuana helps me fall asleep without the terrible images inside of my head that never seem to fully go away.
