My state only had a few cannabis dispensaries in the first year

I knew it would be an uphill battle for my state after they passed a law legalizing cannabis for medical use, but I had no idea things would be so bad within the first two years.

Only seven or eight licenses were awarded at first, and all companies were forced to operate from seed to sale.

That meant you had to work both cultivation and retail to be a cannabis producer in my home state. Imagine trying to meet that sort of bar when most cannabis companies in other states pick one end of the business side of things, be it cultivation or retail. But operating seed to sale can also exhibit benefits if it results in consistently better products on a week by week basis, but I can’t really compare to any other market. This is my first time dealing with buying legal marijuana so I don’t know what else to expect from these stores. Thankfully we have more than seven cannabis companies open at this point, and I know the state has issued four more licenses this year alone to companies that are looking to shake up the competition in this somewhat limited cannabis market. I know that there is a demand for high quality cannabis flower products at price points that everyone can afford. We want marijuana that smells good, tastes good, and gives you the best conceivable effects. That requires dealing with cannabis on a level where you need to love the process that goes into growing the plants and turning them into cannabis products to sell on the statewide market.
