It’s hard to find parking at work, because I work in the city, and there is a small parking lot for employees, but it fills up quickly, especially on the weekends when there is a full crew.
There are only spots for twelve cars, between the manager and the dispensary employees.
Those spots fill up fast, last weekend I decided to park in the area in front of the marijuana dispensary. It was open because there is no parking in that area after 9. I planned to move my car at 9, so I wouldn’t get a ticket. Unfortunately for me, I lost track of time and did not run outside to move my car until it was exactly 9. There was a meter maid next to my car, and she was writing me a traffic ticket. I told the person that I worked at the marijuana dispensary. She did not seem to care at all. I told her that I was moving my car to a different spot now. I got stuck at work. It was only a single minute past 9. The meter maid did not care at all about our excuses. She wrote me a $75 ticket for being parked in the area illegally. I moved my car down the street. I had to drive three blocks and walk back and I still got a ticket for being parked illegally. I should have honestly just kept my car in that area since I already had a ticket on the window. It’s so frustrating to work in the city and drive a car. I honestly need to start taking the metro instead.
