It took 18 long and grueling months before I was approved for a business license to sell CBD and marijuana products.
I honestly believed it was never going to happen, and I have a lot of friends to thank for helping during the process.
One of my best friends practices the law and works for a cannabis consulting service. She was invaluable with all of the free help that she added to the project. if I would have been forced to hire the cannabis consulting service, I would have paid thousands of dollars in extra fees for the same knowledge my friend provided for free. After the cannabis business was set up, I started selling CBD and marijuana products. About two months after the doors opened, I received a very scary cease-and-desist letter. Another marijuana dispensary 6 hours away threatened to sue the company if I did not change the name of my dispensary. The person wasn’t even located in the same state, so I didn’t think they really had a leg to stand on. I was still worried, so I contacted my friend who works as a consultant. She informed me that it really isn’t a big deal to receive one of the letters. She promised it was a scare tactic and told me not to be concerned. I was worried when I received the letter and I’m really glad to have someone in my corner that knows exactly what is happening. It’s really odd and bad practice that businesses can send scary letters without following through on the threats.
