A few years ago, I wrote a business proposal and submitted it to the bank.
- I wanted a loan to open a medical and recreational marijuana dispensary.
Unfortunately, the bank did not think a medical and recreational marijuana dispensary was a good investment and they refused to sign off on the loan. I went to a couple of different financial institutions, but I didn’t have any luck. Even with a 750 credit score, the banks were hesitant to give me a loan for a medical and recreational dispensary. I was beginning to lose hope, and then I met a guy that was very interested in being my silent partner. He was willing to put up five million dollars for the project, as long as he retained 51% of the ownership and 51% of the profits. At the time, it was my only option to get the project started. I had great ideas, but no money to implement them. Things work out really well in the beginning, but my silent partner wants more voice going forward. The last couple of months have been tough and we have struggled to agree on a past moving forward. Each one of us has different ideas, and this is the single reason why I didn’t want a business partner. I didn’t want someone to tell me how to run the business. Now I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I don’t have the money to buy out my partner and we have to find a way to get along for the sake of the medical and recreational marijuana dispensary.
