Sometimes it seems like there are a lot of options for cannabis stores, but without any actual tough choices.
The cannabis market in my state is diluted with too many weed stores with mediocre marijuana products.
These corporations from out west will swoop into a nascent cannabis market as soon as the state in question passes a law to end marijuana prohibition. They have the capital to purchase the license, the grow facilities, and the brick and mortar store locations. You’d think that there would be an effort on their part to invest a lot of money into making the most potent and enjoyable cannabis products possible, but instead more money goes into marketing and packaging to fool people into buying mediocre products. It seems like every single marijuana producer in the state has some form of distillate oil with a high THC content, but they’re not all the same in quality or extraction technique. Marijuana oil extracted with cold and pressurized carbon dioxide is often weak in the terpene department. There are cannabis companies that will extract a bunch of terpenes on a separate extraction, and then the two solutions are combined before the final distillate is put into syringes and vape cartridges. Usually I have to find cannabis distillate oil that is rich in terpenes if I want any serious medical effects from it. Otherwise it feels like I’m just consuming concentrated THC. In some cases, that’s really all the marijuana oil is in it’s constitutive ingredients. Marijuana extracts like rosin utilize heat and pressure to release the concentrated oil inside, often retaining far more terpenes in the end product compared to cannabis distillate oil.
