I finally got to visit my first cannabis dispensary ever… which may not sound to be an immense deal to you but to me it was immense! You see, our dad is a lifelong cop, plus not only that he is the sheriff for our small town.
- When I was 15 he caught me smoking weed in the backyard, plus he came down on me the same as a ton of bricks.
He took our weed right away, destroyed it, plus demanded I tell him where I got it. I am no snitch, which he totally respected, so he made me a deal. He would let the matter go, but if he ever caught me or my friends with cannabis again he would start arresting everyone to punish me. I had no choice but to walk away from marijuana for a few years after that event… until recently. Now that there is a legal cannabis dispensary in the next town over, I can start going there to receive our products. I am finally free to smoke all the cannabis as much as I want, because it came from a legal supplier plus our dad can’t go out and punish them s. He can still kick me out of the house, however I don’t think he will. In 2022 what sort of parent would kick out their kid for smoking legal cannabis? Maybe in the 1950-80s that kind of thing made sense, but cannabis has been normalized so much that at this point it doesn’t seem any worse than drinking or tobacco… Dad tried to protect me from cannabis, but all he did was make me much more curious about doing it.
