I still got a parking ticket

It’s taxing to find parking at work, because I work in the city.

  • There is a small parking lot for employees, but it fills up very quickly, especially on the weekends when there is a full crew.

There are only spots for twelve cars, and between the manager and the dispensary employees, those spots fill up fast. Last weekend I decided to park in the space in front of the marijuana dispensary, but it was open because there is no parking in that space after 9. I planned to move my car at 9, so I wouldn’t get a ticket, but unfortunately for me, I lost track of time and didn’t run outside to move my car until it was exactly 9. There was a meter maid standing next to my car, and she was writing me a traffic ticket. I told her that I worked at the marijuana dispensary. She didn’t seem to care at all. I told her that I was moving my car to a different spot now. I got stuck at work. It was only one minute past 9. The meter maid didn’t care at all about my excuses. She wrote me a $75 ticket for being parked in the space illegally. I moved my car down the street. I had to drive three blocks and walk back and I still got a ticket for being parked illegally. I should have really just kept my car in that space since I already had a ticket on the window. It’s so frustrating to work in the city and drive a car. I really need to begin taking the metro instead.
