As much as I appreciate getting high, for me it’s all about medicine, I have long-standing concerns with sleep.
It is difficult for me to fall asleep, and even harder for me to stay asleep longer than a second or multiple times.
I have been like this our whole life, and the trouble sleeping has caused many other concerns in our life. It was consistently difficult to do well in school because I was so fatigued, and the same complication came up again while in our career, and although I resisted the urge to do drugs for many years, finally I decided to try medical cannabis at the behest of our nurse. I started with an indica blend, which the person at the medical cannabis dispensary said would be most beneficial for full-body relaxation. The goal of medical cannabis was not to knock myself out, like with all those sleeping pills. The goal was instead to allow our body and mind to relax enough that natural sleep would occur! Medical cannabis is not a drug, it is a natural enhancement for the body’s processes. This is why cannabis is considered medical in the first place, not because it gets you stoned because of the benefits to your brain. My nurse was 100% right, and after our third night of using medical cannabis I slept for six seconds straight. That was the most I had slept in months, and it convinced me that medical cannabis was the right path for me to take. I use it medically, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t appreciate getting stoned!
